Hybrid heat pump water heaters, also known as heat pump water heaters, save on electricity by moving heat from one place to another instead of creating heat. Essentially, it works the opposite way a refrigerator does. While a refrigerator removes heat from an enclosed area, a hybrid water heater takes the heat from the surrounding air and combines it with the water in the tank.
The hybrid aspect of the water heater is that when demand for hot water is high, the tank relies on electricity to meet the demand. This means that you save money and energy by using the heat pump technology to keep the water hot in the tank instead of electricity.
They last twice as long as standard tank models, and while they do take up more room than standard models, they typically come with excellent warranties to help take care of your new energy-saving investment!
